OVERVIEW

The aim of our rallies are to provide Club members with an opportunity to have lessons with experienced, qualified instructors, in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Rallies are held at Walliston Pony Club grounds on the 2nd Friday and the 4th Saturday of each month (except Christmas).

The format of the rallies are lessons lasting an hour each.  We aim to have a variety of instructors throughout the year to provide members with exposure to different coaching styles.  All members are encouraged to put names forward of instructors they would like to see at rallies.  We are constantly looking at clinics that we can run with local and interstate instructors.

RALLY INFORMATION

Details of forthcoming rallies for the month are available on-line.  After each Saturday rally, you will get an e-mail (to the address nominated on your membership form at the start of the year) letting you know that this website has been updated with the instructors and lessons that will be available for the Friday and Saturday rallies to come.  You first go to the page called “Rally Details” to check what classes are on, and then to the page titled “Lesson Booking” to send an e-mail to the Rally Co-ordinator to book your place.  If your preferred class is not available, the Rally Co-ordinator will contact you.

COST OF RALLIES AND HOW YOU PAY

Each lesson is of one hour duration with a maximum of 4 riders.  Cost per lesson is $30 plus $25 for the second or subsequent lesson that day.  Great if you want to do a ground work lesson first then ride afterwards.  You pay for your rallies on the day with an envelope provided and posted into the letterbox in the clubrooms.

CLASSES

Our club is not graded.  You select the classes that are suitable for your horse, not necessarily your riding ability.  If you are unsure about where you belong, have a chat to some of the committee members or your instructor.

HIGH POINT RIDERS

At each rally, the instructor will award a high point to the rider they feel is most deserving.  These are tallied up and at the end of the year a trophy will be awarded to each group.

LUNCH

KDA have their own club room, which is open to members from the start of each rally.  We provide free tea and coffee (maybe a cake on a good day) to members and guests.  Cool drinks are available for purchase .  We encourage members to hang around after their lesson to have a chat and get to know other members.
